The VRx.900 Platinum-Level triple shielded video cables offer a unique approach to eliminating RFI/EMI (Radio Frequency and Electro-Magnetic interference) radiated noise which can deteriorate picture and sound quality in an A/V system. The triple-shielded design combines a braided copper outer shield and a 100% Mylar foil shield (which are not part of the signal path, but ?float? independently of it) with an inner braided copper shield which is connected to signal ground. This design offers excellent signal integrity and dramatically improved video reproduction capabilities. To further maximize signal quality, Phoenix Gold utilizes a patented, true 75 ohm, Titanium connector. The connector uses military-spec hard gold plating and a split tip with an internal Beryllium spring for a snug connection. Lesser cables often do not use a true 75 ohm connector. The use of 25 ohm and 50 ohm connectors on 75 ohm cables has little effect on analog equipment below 300Hz. However, the mismatched connectors cause attenuation of the digital signal in video applications resulting in slower rise-time of the signal?s sign waves. This distortion of the signal can cause transmission errors and signal reflections known as return loss. These problems will result in degradation of picture quality.
